• Account information — username, display name, school email address, ID number, and password (stored as a salted bcrypt hash, never in plain text).
• Academic activity — quiz and practice-exam submissions, scores, answers, attempts, and class-record data tied to your enrolled subjects.
• Proctoring data — when you take proctored quizzes, we may capture camera video clips, tab-switch / violation events, IP address, user agent, and a risk score to protect exam integrity.
• Usage & analytics — pages visited, features used, XP and leaderboard activity, and aggregated performance statistics.
• Log data — server access logs, timestamps, and device/browser metadata.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the platform: manage accounts, quizzes, practice exams, grades, and class records.
• To protect exam integrity through proctoring and automated integrity checks.
• To communicate with you: account notifications, quiz reminders, and password resets.
• To improve the product and understand aggregate usage patterns.

3. Cookies, Local Storage & Advertising

SQB uses browser local storage to keep you signed in (a session token), remember your session cache, and store preferences such as dark mode. We do not use these technologies to track you across unrelated websites.

We may display third-party advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's own Privacy Policy.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the platform:

• Hosting & database — Vercel and Supabase (data stored in their cloud infrastructure).
• Email delivery — Resend and Brevo, used to send account and notification emails.

We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SQB, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and academic data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide class records and grades. Proctoring media is retained to support integrity review and is deleted when it is no longer needed for that purpose.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us through the Contact page. You may also close your account at any time.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS, bcrypt password hashing, rate limiting, and security headers. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

SQB is intended for college-level students and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
